“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

If I was to ask you why you liked Christmas, what what you say???

I personally, have always liked Christmas because I love to get-together with my family and friends.

I also love to make and give gifts. To bring joy into the lives of others.

Pretty lights and festive music make it even more cheerful…

…Making it a wonderful time of the year.

This is because the rest of the year, we busily go on with our lives until we are ready to drop.

Then, Christmas comes!!! Fun… festive…get new surprises and gifts…give because you really haven’t given all year and your expected to give… Baking and eating tasty treats… A wonderful special meal with those you love…a time to think of others…while hoping you get what you have always wanted…Black Friday sales…and huge Christmas deals… Lights and decor tell all that a holiday is here…you gaze at the bright lights and admire them…there is always something new… festive music fills you with cheer and happiness… when things get dull…turn up the music…enjoy this holiday as much as possible, for when it’s over, you have another whole dull, go, go, go, busy year until the next “Wonderful time of the Year”.

And so it goes. But who says it has to be like this? We seem to live in a all or nothing world.

Growing up, I have always loved to visit with others, make and give gifts just because, sing and listen to music, and decorate with lights for no reason at all.

I have always loved parties and get-togethers so much, that the holiday season could never come soon enough.

Because, in the world we live in, we can only get together and have parties if there is a reason to. a.k.a. holidays, birthdays…

But why? Why does there have to be a reason???

Instead of giving gifts because it’s a holiday, why can we not give when we are lead to give or want to give?

Instead of just getting together for holidays, why can we not get together just because…to visit?

Why can we not sing all year round… Why can’t we do the things that add joy to our lives, all the time…

Why must we wait for a holiday or tradition to do these things???

Sure, Christmas could be seen as the most wonderful time of the year…in an all or nothing world.

First of all, the term “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” seems to imply that it is better than the rest of the year.

In a sense, it may seem that way, but as the Bible shows us, everyday is a new day to praise Him. Not one season or time of the year.

“This is the day which Yahweh has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalms 118:24

Sure, there are special times that Yahweh gives us to celebrate. But there are so many holidays that seem to wear us out with festivities that do not last long. Do they really have any meaning?

So, okay, we should do these things all year around. Giving, singing, fellowshipping…

But what is so wrong with celebrating Christmas???

This is the big question, isn’t it?

What IS wrong with Christmas?

In our day and age, we have information at our fingertips. While I could post about Christmas till the new year, I encourage you to seek out the truth yourself.

Find out how Christmas came to be. Where did Christmas come from? What is it’s history and origion? Whether or not Yahweh intended for us to celebrate Christmas…Or if Christ was ever truly part of Christmas?

It is quite interesting to seek out the reason for why we do what we do. What is the truth behind Christmas?
