I love this part of love. It is very dear to my heart.
I once had a few duck eggs which I hoped to hatch. I took good motherly care of them. I constantly examine the temperature and humidity and adjusted it as needed. I guarded them from curious little siblings and possible accidents. Every day, I would carefully check each egg for a baby duckling. The day I saw one, I was even more protective and careful…
As I cared for these eggs, I imagined how protective a mother duck or chicken is…or any mother really.
Do we love, care, and protect like that? Do we do so all the time?
Love protects… always.
•Protect the helpless and weak
“Pure religion and undefiled before Yahweh and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” ~James 1:27
•Protect yourself against temptation
“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.” ~Proverbs 4:14-15
•Defend the name of Yahweh
“But sanctify Yahweh Elohim in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” ~1 Peter 3:15
Who are the helpless and weak? How can we protect them?
I am very passionate about life. Hearing about helpless babies being destroyed in the womb by abortion… or of weak elder, who are left to die and be murdered by euthanasia… or that little girl who happens to have a disability and is put to death because of it… This all lays heavy on my heart. There is great evil around us. Can we love and do nothing to protect the weak and helpless?
Even in our everyday lives, we can make a big difference.Like that sweet elderly lady who drops something on the ground on the grocery store when your shopping.
Or the mother carrying bags full of groceries through the slippery sleet in the parking lot with three small children struggling along behind.
There are many who need protection and we can make a difference, even just one person who needs us…
Protect yourself. This may seem like a selfish thing. But protecting yourself from temptation affects everyone around you. If we can avoid temptation, why walk past it or lead others past it?
As a follower of Yahweh, it is your duty to defend the name of Yahweh. It is more than just a belief or some fairytale. This is the name of our Creator and Heavenly Father!!! Don’t be afraid to stand up for what you believe in!!!
Love ALWAYS protects!!!
