If you were threatened to deny our Saviour would you do it? Your very life depends on it.

We would all say NO, right? What believer would even think of denying Him???

We say this and believe it. But when the time comes, will we be faithful?

They both sat on the sofa reading contently. Suddenly, at about the same time, they decided to lay down and take a little nap.

They both practically put their feet in each other’s faces. Not happy, they both began to kick and yell at each other.

The sofa was only large enough for one of them to lay down on. But each of them wanted the other to get off, so that they could lay down and rest.

But the battle for territory continued. Neither one of them would give in to the other.

Sounds like a couple kids fighting? You guessed it.

These were two of my brothers, sad to say. But I was glad that this happened for one small reason.

It was an opportunity for a lesson to be learned.

No matter how old we are, there is always something that we just can’t live without. Whether it’s for the moment or for life.

Just as this sofa war, we battle for our way.

As a follower of Yahweh, we need to examine ourselves. Who are we living for?

Yahweh. Our Creator, our Elohim (God), our Saviour Yahushua (Jesus). Correct?

We gave our lives to Yahweh. We live for Yahweh. We promise to faithfully never deny Him.

We live our lives as WE rightly think.

How many of us could throw out our TVs, computers, or phones? How many of us can go even a day without coffee, makeup, movies, news, sports…..

How many of us daily spend time with Yahweh? How many of us spend some of our valuable time praying and studying Yahweh’s Word?

How many of us take time for others on a daily basis? How many of us sacrifice our time, money, or anything we have for someone else?

How many of us are willing to give Yahweh, not only are small pledge of faithful unto death, but our very lives?

We say and think that someday if we are threatened with death, we will NEVER ever deny Our Saviour, Yahweh.

Yet, we deny Him everyday in our thoughts and actions.

This is sad, but true.

Even one of our Saviour’s most devote disciples, Peter, thought that he was strong enough to be faithful unto death.

But after Yahushua (Jesus) Christ was arrested…Peter denied even knowing our Saviour, THREE TIMES!!!

And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, ‘And thou also was with Yahushua of Nazareth.‘ But he denied, saying,’ I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest’.

And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by,’ This is one of them.

And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, ‘Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

But he began to curse and to swear, saying, ‘I know not this man of whom ye speak.

And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Yahushua Christ said unto him, ‘Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice’. And when he thought thereon, he wept.” ~Mark 14:66-72

Where do we truly stand? Does are pride swallow us whole? Or are we firmly planted in His truth?

Are you living your life to the fullest for Yahweh???

The Bible is not a religion, it is our life.

“And He (Christ) said to them all, ‘If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” ~Luke 9:23-25

  2. Blessings, Joy, for sharing these precious thoughts. We understand Jesus’ words by becoming “living sacrifices” for Him (Romans 12:1-2 a future post for me, needing to renew the truths of my life in Christ in a new year). Blessings for your new year in Him.

  3. This post really got me thinking. Thank you so much for writing it! ๐Ÿ’• Itโ€™s so very true – we donโ€™t verbally deny Him outright, but in the decisions we make every day, that is where our obedience (or lack thereof) is shown.

  4. Wonderful Post Joy. I enjoyed reading it, and I enjoyed the example that you used about your brothers. Don’t you love it when God shows you something with a literal example? I love learning what He has to teach us. I’ve asked myself that question many times. Would I deny Him. Of course I want my answer to be, “No, I wouldn’t” but I do wonder. I hope that I wouldn’t. I also pray that He builds my faith so that I wouldn’t. Blessings, Joy. โค

  6. One of our pastors once said that people he knew were always saying that “Jesus is first in my life,” or “Jesus is the center of my life.” Then he startled us by saying that the Bible never tells us He should be first in our lives, or that He should be the center of our lives. Now that He really had our attention, He quoted Colossians 3:4, that says Christ IS our life. He’s not to be first, He’s to be first, last, and everything in between.
